It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Lukoil Acad.. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Academik Plovdiv dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Lukoil Acad.’s 28. Academik Plovdiv forced 19 Lukoil Acad. turnovers. Strangely Lukoil Acad. outrebounded Academik Plovdiv 40-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. 25 personal fouls committed by Lukoil Acad. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. French-American forward Jordan Semple (201-92, college: Chico St.) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American point guard Oscar Bellfield (187-90, college: UNLV) chipped in 21 points and 9 assists. Academik Plovdiv’s coach Asen Nikolov used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international Filip Videnov (196-80, college: W.Kentucky, agency: Alti Sport) produced 21 points for lost side. Academik Plovdiv (6-3) moved-up to second place, which they share with Beroe. Defending champion Lukoil Acad. still keeps top position with two games lost.
