Collin Pryor An interesting game for Fjolnir (10-3) which played road game in Kopavogur against 3rd ranked Breidablik (8-4). Second ranked Fjolnir had an easy win 86-71. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Breidablik. The game was mostly controlled by Fjolnir. Breidablik managed to win second period 25-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Breidablik 46-30 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Collin Pryor (200-90, college: Northern St., agency: Mansfield and Associates) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Robert Sigurdsson (187-94) contributed with 22 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American guard Tyrone Garland (185-92, college: La Salle) replied with 18 points, 8 assists and 4 steals for Breidablik. Breidablik’s coach Larus Jonsson rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fjolnir maintains second position with 10-3 record behind leader Hottur. Breidablik at the other side dropped to the fourth place with four games lost. Fjolnir will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Breidablik will play on the road against FSU (#6) in Selfoss and it may be a tough game between close rivals. Bottom-ranked Armann is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 12th consecutive match to sixth ranked Hamar (5-7) 85-50. Hamar moved-up to fifth place. Armann at the other side still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Hamar will play against higher ranked Valur (#3) in Reykjavik in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Armann will play on the road against IA (#8) in Akranes and hopes to get finally their first victory.The game between fourth ranked Valur (8-3) and 5th ranked FSU (5-8) in Reykjavik on Friday ended with biggest points difference. Valur outscored guests from Selfoss 107-64. Urald King notched a double-double by scoring 25 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks to lead the effort. Even 29 points and 8 rebounds by Terrance Motley did not help to save the game for FSU. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Valur moved-up to third place. Loser FSU dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Vestri. Valur will meet Hamar (#5) on the road in the next round. FSU will play against Breidablik and it may be a tough game between close rivals. In the last game of round 14 IA was smashed by Vestri on the road 103-63.
