Cubs unveil Minor League coaches, staff list

In a nod to their organization-wide success over the past two years, the Cubs on Friday unveiled a list of Minor League managers, coaches and staff with only a handful of changes.
All of the managers at the Cubs’ top six affiliates will return to their posts in 2017, including Triple-A skipper Marty Pevey, who is back for a fifth season. The top newcomer to the organization is Double-A Tennessee hitting coach Jacob Cruz, who spent the past six seasons in similar roles in Arizona’s farm system.

Pevey has a combined 33 years of professional experience; 13 years as a player and 20 years as a manager, coach or coordinator. Nichols is entering his second season as the team’s pitching coach after three years as the Phillies’ Major League bullpen coach. Wilson and Duncan will share hitting coach duties for Iowa — Wilson after four seasons as Double-A Tennessee’s hitting coach, and Duncan after four years as a hitting coach at the Class A Advanced level.
