The $100,000 Whale

Entrants: 226 Buy-in: $600 Prize pool: $127,690

Sweden’s “Madeon1994” has been grinding online tournaments for seven years and amassed almost $6.3 million in online tournament winnings. Close to $350,000 of that impressive total stems from Madeon1994’s play at 888poker. That figure received a boost this week when he won the $100,000 Whale for $26,112.60 after defeating “fezzz123” heads up, the runner-up banking $19,153.50.

The $100,000 Mega Deep

Entrants: 631 Buy-in: $215 Prize pool: $126,200

Lukas “suk12cz” Soucek moved ever closer to the magical $3 million in online winnings with a victory in the $100,000 Mega Deep. Soucek and “SanttuO” found themselves heads up and decided to strike a deal for the remaining prize pool. Soucek came out on top of the one-on-one battle and walked away with $21,068.72 with SanttuO collecting $20,059.86.
