Jeonbuk cruise to fifth place after beating Sundowns 4-1

Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors bounced back from their FIFA Club World Cup second round loss against Club America by defeating Mamelodi Sundowns in the match for fifth place at the Suita City Football Stadium, Osaka.
Kim Bokyung opened the scoring on 18 minutes for the Asian champions, before Lee Jongho grabbed the second shortly before the half-hour mark in his final game for the Jeonju-based side.
Things went from bad to worse for Masandawana when Ricardo Nascimento turned the ball into his own net on 41 minutes, seeing the South African side trailing by three goals going into the break. The CAF Champions League winners pulled one back three minutes into the second half, however, when Percy Tau found the top corner with a lovely left-footed strike, before Kim Shinwook notched Jeonbuk’s fourth on 89 minutes.
In the first match contested between clubs from Korea Republic and South Africa, it was Sundowns’ Samuel Mabunda who enjoyed the first chance on eight minutes. The South African midfielder shrugged off two Jeonbuk defenders, but his shot from the edge of the box went straight at goalkeeper Hong Jungnam.
