L2: York keep up fight

York live to fight another day after prolonging their stay in the Football League with a 3-1 home victory against promotion-chasing Portsmouth.
Anything but a win on Tuesday night would have seen the Minstermen join Dagenham & Redbridge in returning to the National League next season but they earned a stay of execution by storming into a commanding lead through goals from Bradley Fewster, Lewis Alessandra and Luke Summerfield.
Gareth Evans replied for Pompey at the start of the second half but it was too little too late for Paul Cook’s team, who still harbour outside hopes of gatecrashing the top three places in Sky Bet League 2.
