L1: Wigan maintain lead with draw

Wigan maintained their three-point advantage over second-placed Burton at the top of League 1 on Tuesday night after a 1-1 draw at the Pirelli Stadium.

Tom Naylor headed Burton level seven minutes before the break after Michael Jacobs had given Wigan an eighth-minute lead, but the point extends the Brewers’ winless run to six matches.

Nigel Clough’s side remain in the second automatic promotion spot, three points clear of third-placed Walsall, who were also held to a 1-1 home draw against Swindon.

Kieron Morris (71) equalised for Walsall after Michael Doughty had struck the opener for Swindon in the 59th minute.

Millwall remain fourth, a further three points behind, after Steve Morison (52) notched his 17th goal of the season to secure them a 1-0 home win against Fleetwood, who remain two points clear of the relegation zone.

Bradford slipped to fifth as their promotion push lost momentum following a 1-0 defeat at Coventry, for whom Andy Rose powered home a 59th-minute winner before visiting striker Steven Davies was shown a straight red card for violent conduct …
