Yanks prefer to sign Aroldis, keep Draft pick

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. — The Yankees still have contract offers out to both Aroldis Chapman and Kenley Jansen, which prompts this question: What would happen if both elite free-agent closers were to accept?
That is a circumstance that general manager Brian Cashman would love to be in, but the Yankees aren’t attempting to rebuild their dismantled three-headed monster at the back end of the bullpen. In that event, their preference will be to sign Chapman, who wouldn’t cost the club a Draft pick, and they would not sign both.
