Late A’s voice King honored with Frick Award

Longtime Oakland Athletics broadcaster Bill King has been selected as the 2017 recipient of the Ford C. Frick Award presented by the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
King is the 41st winner of the award, which is presented annually for excellence in broadcasting.
King, who passed away in 2005, joined the Athletics’ broadcast team in 1981. He called games for an A’s team that won three American League pennants from 1988-90, and the …
