Bayern battle past Atletico

Bayern Munich deprived Atletico Madrid of a perfect record in the Champions League group stages with a 1-0 win thanks to Robert Lewandowski’s delightful free-kick.
Lewandowski’s curled effort from 20 yards out came after Yannick Carrasco spurned two great opportunities for the visitors to take the lead.
The German side claimed their 15th consecutive Champions League win at the Allianz in what was ultimately a dead rubber, with Atletico having already confirmed first ahead of Bayern in Group D.
Bayern will therefore go into Monday’s draw as the second-placed side teams will want to avoid in the last 16.
