Phillies complete deal with veteran Benoit

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. — Joaquin Benoit became the newest member of the Phillies bullpen on Tuesday.
The Phillies finalized a one-year deal with the 39-year-old right-hander. Benoit went a combined 3-1 with a 2.81 ERA in 51 appearances with the Mariners and Blue Jays last season. He posted a 5.18 ERA in 26 games for the Mariners, but a 0.38 ERA in 25 appearances with the Blue Jays.
