‘Klopp perfect for Woodburn’

Robbie Fowler says Jurgen Klopp is the perfect manager to help Liverpool teen sensation Ben Woodburn progress his career.

Woodburn wrote his name into the Anfield history books last Tuesday when, at 17 years and 45 days, he became the club’s youngest goalscorer.

In only his second first-team match, having made his debut against Sunderland just four days earlier, the academy youngster grabbed the clinching goal in Liverpool’s 2-0 EFL Cup victory over Leeds United.

The goal ended Michael Owen’s near 20-year period as the club’s youngest scorer and immediately drew comparisons with the man who went on to score 158 goals in 267 matches for the Reds.

And Fowler, who was 18 when he scored the first of his 183 Liverpool goals against Fulham in September 1993, believes the club has another star on its hands.
