2016 Race-by-Race Results
In 2016, Chris Buescher backed up his championship season from the year before with a Chase berth in the Sprint Cup Series, finishing 16th in the final standings.
After winning the 2015 XFINITY Series championship for Roush Fenway Racing, Buescher moved up to Cup … where he posted an upset victory at Pocono Raceway in August. He drove his No. 34 Front Row Motorsports Ford to a rain-shortened win that landed the 24-year-old rookie a berth in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.
It was unquestionably the highlight of the season for Buescher and his team.
“I tried to stay level-headed,” he said following his mid-summer miracle. “I’m not one to get too excitable. The win was huge and put us in a good position.”
