Stearns expects action as Meetings open

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. — Brewers general manager David Stearns is expecting a lot of action when the Winter Meetings get underway Monday just outside Washington, D.C.
MLB.com is on the ground for baseball’s annual offseason showcase, and just like last year, when Stearns traded first baseman Adam Lind to the Mariners for three teenage pitchers, the Brewers are open for business. Outfielder Ryan Braun, starting pitcher Junior Guerra and closer Tyler Thornburg are among the myriad of players in whom other clubs have expressed interest.
