Hembree recalled, sees immediate action

BOSTON — After getting recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket on Tuesday afternoon to take the roster spot of Noe Ramirez, Heath Hembree was pressed to immediate service when starter Joe Kelly exited with two outs in the first inning with an undisclosed injury.
“Needed to get a fresh arm here capable of a couple of innings, and the fact is we go up against some lineups here these two or three series with more lefties in it,” Red Sox manager John Farrell said prior to the game. “And while Noe’s arm slot is probably geared toward right-handers, we look to get more of a top to bottom breaking ball and a four-seam fastball against this group.”
