Michael Keane’s injury-time strike earned Burnley a thrilling 1-1 Sky Bet Championship draw in a top-of-the-table clash with Middlesbrough at Turf Moor.

It looked like a 70th-minute goal from £9m striker Jordan Rhodes, his third in two matches after his match-winning brace at Bolton on Saturday, would see Boro extend their lead at the summit.

But Burnley boast the most potent attack in the division and they eventually found a way through the league’s meanest defence in the second minute of injury time when defender Keane bundled the ball home from close range.

It extended the Clarets’ unbeaten run to 20 Championship matches and meant Sean Dyche’s team remain just two points behind Boro.

It was probably the result third-placed Brighton were hoping for as they moved level on points with Burnley after a comprehensive 4-0 home win against QPR.
