KirilVolodkin The most exciting game of round 12 in the Premier League took place in Minsk. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Vitebsk (4-7) to fourth ranked Impuls BGUIR (5-5) 81-79 in the game for the fourth place. Vitebsk was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Impuls BGUIR looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Kiril Volodkin (190-91) who helped to win the game recording 29 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Yuriy Ignatev (202-91) who added 16 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was point guard Ivan Aladko (193-95) with 30 points and 8 assists. Impuls BGUIR have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 5-5 record. Vitebsk lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with seven games lost. Impuls BGUIR are looking forward to face bottom-ranked GOCOR-Sozh (#9) in Gomel in the next round where they are favorite. Vitebsk will play at home against Brest (#8) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series. Premier League top team – COR-Borisfen (10-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked GOCOR-Sozh (1-9) in Gomel 88-52. The winners were led by Ukrainian center Maksym Kozlovets (205-90) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and Vytautas Kamarunas supported him with 22 points, 7 assists and 5 steals. Even 11 points and 8 rebounds by point guard Ilya Scherba (176-95) did not help to save the game for GOCOR-Sozh. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated COR-Borisfen have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-0 record. GOCOR-Sozh lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with nine games lost. COR-Borisfen will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. GOCOR-Sozh will play on the road against Impuls BGUIR (#4) in Minsk to get more than just one victory in their record. The game in Brest was also quite interesting. 6th ranked Prinemanye (3-9) played at the court of eighth ranked Brest (2-8). Brest defeated Prinemanye 76-65 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Dmitriy Dmitruk who had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Pavel Suvorov who recorded 13 points and 8 rebounds. Newly promoted Brest maintains eighth position with 2-8 record. Prinemanye at the other side keeps the sixth place with nine games lost. Brest will meet higher ranked Vitebsk (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Prinemanye will play against GOCOR-Sozh and hope to secure a win. In the last game of round 12 Vitebsk won against Impuls BGUIR on the opponent’s court 96-88.
