Hembree recalled, Ramirez sent to Triple-A

BOSTON — Heath Hembree was recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket prior to Tuesday’s game vs. the Rays to take the roster spot of Noe Ramirez, who was optioned to Pawtucket following Monday’s 4-3 loss to the Blue Jays.
“Needed to get a fresh arm here capable of a couple of innings, and the fact is we go up against some lineups here these two or three series with more lefties in it,” said Red Sox manager John Farrell. “And while Noe’s arm slot is probably geared toward right-handers, we look to get more of a top to bottom breaking ball and a four-seam fastball against this group.”
