Report: Van Gundy atop Rockets’ coaching list

The Rockets are in the midst of a playoff series but they’re clearly looking to the future. Yahoo Sports reported this week that Houston has former coach Jeff Van Gundy at the top of its list for its next coach, which presumably means interim coach J.B. Bickerstaff will not return next season.
Jeff Van Gundy is at the top of the Houston Rockets’ list of potential candidates along with Thibodeau, league sources said. Jeff Van Gundy resigned as Rockets coach in 2007 after four seasons and still lives in Houston.The Rockets won’t begin a coaching search until the team’s postseason ends.
