The Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale Results, UFC Fires Pair Of Former Champions From Executive Roles
- Updated: December 4, 2016
– Demetrious Johnson picked up the ninth successive UFC flyweight title defense of his career Saturday night, but it was not without a fight. Recent Ultimate Fighter 24 winner Tim Elliott pushed “Mighty Mouse” the distance in the main event of The Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale.
But in the end, just like he has done eight times before, Johnson was declared the winner. The victory moved him into a tie with Georges St-Pierre on the all-time list of title defenses, just one behind Anderson Silva.
In the co-main event, former flyweight title contenders Joseph Benavidez and Henry Cejudo squared off. Benavidez picked up the victory, claiming a split decision.
Jorge Masvidal bested Jake Ellenberger in a featured main card bout after Ellenberger injured his foot between the cage and the mat inside the Octagon.
