PSV had to settle for a point in their bid to close the gap on top two Feyenoord and Ajax after being held to a goalless draw at Roda JC.
Phillip Cocu’s reigning champions, who began the day four points behind second-placed Ajax, were denied on several occasions by Roda goalkeeper Ben van Leer.
But Roda were not without their own chances at the Parkstad Limburg Stadium and held on for their sixth successive league draw.
Feyenoord, the league leaders, and Ajax play at home on Sunday, against Sparta Rotterdam and Groningen respectively.
