Kirsten Flipkens clinched a thrilling victory for the Indian Aces on Saturday in the 2016 International Premier Tennis League, as her win over Kiki Bertens handed the team a 26-25 win over the OUE Singapore Slammers in Saitama, Japan.
The scores were deadlocked as the final set of the match got under way, and Flipkens was able to hold her nerve in a tiebreaker, prompting scenes of celebration from her team-mates on the sidelines. It’s a triumph that makes it two wins in as many days for the Aces.
The second match of the day will see the Japan Warriors, who were hammered by the Aces on Friday, take on the UAE Royals.
