Phils designate Asche; lefty Rollins claimed

PHILADELPHIA — Cody Asche had been on the bubble with Friday’s 8 p.m. ET deadline looming to tender contracts to arbitration-eligible players.
Asche didn’t make it. The Phillies announced Friday afternoon they had designated him for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster for left-hander David Rollins, whom they claimed off waivers from the Rangers. Rollins, who turns 27 on Dec. 21, went 5-0 with a 3.77 ERA in 37 appearances with Triple-A Tacoma and 1-0 with a 7.71 ERA in 11 games …
