Manchester United U21s won a third Premier League Division One title in four years after beating Tottenham Hotspur U21s 3-2 at White Hart Lane on Tuesday, thanks to a stunning stoppage-time winner from Guillermo Varela.
He spared United’s blushes after the junior Red Devils blew a two-goal lead late on. Andreas Pereira had added to Donald Love’s opener for United before Tottenham hit back via skipper William Miller and Joe Pritchard.
But Varela had the last word for a United squad loaded with talented prospects who have earned senior first-team experience this season.
