Football Manager 2017 have provided us with their simulation of this weekend’s Soccer Saturday Super 6 fixtures, forecasting wins for Southampton, Stoke and Tottenham.
The world’s most popular football management game have run this weekend’s selected fixtures with their recently updated ratings and relevant team news to predict the outcomes.
The latest round involves the five 3pm Premier League kick-offs along with the Sky Bet Championship clash between Fulham and Reading. Here’s how the matches panned out…
Crystal Palace 1-3 Southampton
The Eagles’ poor form continued as they slipped to defeat against Southampton at Selhurst Park.
It was Palace who got off to the perfect start as Christian Benteke put them 1-0 up with just six minutes gone, side-footing home from Jason Puncheon’s pull-back.
The setback only served to strengthen Southampton’s resolve and Charlie Austin continued his good run of form with a quickfire brace at the end of the first half. His first was a classic poacher’s finish, snatching the ball from the legs of Scott Dann before firing the ball across the body of Wayne Hennessey and into the back of the net.
Austin added his second eight minutes later when he turned his man and struck a first-time effort into the bottom right corner.
Southampton rounded off a comfortable victory when James Ward-Prowse got on the end of a Ryan Bertrand cross to toe poke home from near the penalty spot and pile the pressure onto Palace boss Alan Pardew.
Stoke 1-0 Burnley
