Report: Woodson to meet Kings about HC job

The Sacramento Kings are searching for their ninth head coach in the past 11 years after firing George Karl following a little over one season of coaching the team. It was a contentious working relationship between Karl and Kings star DeMarcus Cousins along with Karl and some of the ownership and front-office personnel from the start. It was also indicative of the team’s lack of direction over the past decade, since firing Rick Adelman.
Now they’re looking for Karl’s replacement and their attention is pointed toward guys with previous head-coaching experience. Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical is reporting the Kings will interview Los Angeles Clippers assistant coach Mike Woodson after receiving permission to do so from the Clippers. They’ll also look into former coaches Vinny Del Negro, Kevin McHale and Mark Jackson.
