Knaus Enjoying the Moment

Chad Knaus is enjoying his accomplishment as Jimmie Johnson’s crew chief for all seven of his Sprint Cup Series championships. Johnson and Knaus have teamed up to tie Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt on the all-time championship list with the duo putting number seven in the books this year. But while Knaus is certainly proud of the effort and his contribution to the titles Johnson has won, he gives complete credit to the man behind the wheel. “I hate to be this blunt, but it’s Jimmie Johnson,” Knaus said when asked about what makes his team so successful. “You know, he is probably the most underrated champion in this sport, to be honest with you. He is a fantastic, fantastic individual, an amazing race car driver. Most people in the situation we were just in would crumble, and he didn’t even waver. He knew what he needed to do.
