It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Illiabum. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Galitos-Barreiro. Illiabum managed to win second period 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Galitos-Barreiro forced 19 Illiabum turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by Illiabum helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Illiabum’s coach Ricardo Vasconcelos rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn’t help. Galitos-Barreiro maintains second position with 6-2 record behind leader Benfica, which they share with FC Porto. Newly promoted Illiabum dropped to the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with Oliveirense and Vitoria SC. Galitos-Barreiro is looking forward to face Maia Basket (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Benfica maintains first position with 7-1 record. Newly promoted Sampaense still closes the standings with eight games lost. Third ranked FC Porto Ferpinta (6-2) played at the court of 8th ranked Ovarense (3-5). FC Porto Ferpinta defeated Ovarense 79-66 on Sunday. The winners were led by Sasa Borovnjak who scored that evening 19 points and 7 rebounds. Even 21 points and 7 rebounds by Bryce Douvier did not help to save the game for Ovarense.
