Real Madrid vs. Cultural Leonesa: 2016 Copa Del Rey Leg 2 Score, Reaction

Real Madrid easily took care of business in the second leg of their 2016 Spanish Copa del Rey clash with Cultural Leonesa, winning 6-1 on Wednesday to take the tie with an aggregate score of 13-2.

Mariano Diaz scored twice before half-time, and James Rodriguez added a first-half goal as well to end the match as a contest early.

Enzo Fernandez, the son of manager Zinedine Zidane, added a fourth goal on his debut after the break, and Mariano completed his hat-trick in the final minutes. Cesar Morgado also scored an own goal.

Los Blancos entered the second leg with an enormous 7-1 lead, and with the Clasico against Barcelona on the schedule, Zidane gave plenty of his stars the chance to rest. Per the club’s official Twitter account, Pepe, Isco and Dani Carvajal were the only starters expected to feature against the Blaugrana as well:

Even with so many youngsters and fringe players, Real were expected to cruise to a win against Leonesa. With their first shot on goal, the La Liga giants took the lead. Mariano easily slotted home a cross after just 30 seconds.
