With full roster, non-tender options available

KANSAS CITY — The Royals added four prospects to their 40-man roster recently to protect them from being picked in the Rule 5 Draft.
The moves, however, maxed out the Royals’ 40-man roster, meaning they cannot participate in the Rule 5 Draft on Dec. 8 unless they clear space no later than the day before.
The Royals can do that by non-tendering a player by this Friday’s deadline at 10:59 p.m. CT, by trading a player or designating a player for assignment.
