Raiders QB Carr: 7-9 record not going to cut it

When the Raiders’ offseason program began, players were hardly the only arrivals. Arriving at the team’s facility was also a fresh dose of optimism — the kind of optimism a previously hapless franchise feels after finally piecing together multiple successful offseasons.
Successful drafting brought them a franchise passer in Derek Carr, a star pass-rusher in Khalil Mack, and legitimate No. 1 wideout in Amari Cooper. Last season, they finished with seven wins — their best record since 2011’s eight wins — and a -40 point differential, which might not seem like a desirable number, but it is when you remember the Raiders were outscored by nearly 200 points in 2014.
