Rangers to address roster at tender deadline

ARLINGTON — The Rangers have some 40-man roster cleanup to do going into the Winter Meetings with the non-tender deadline set for Friday at 10:59 p.m. CT.
Friday’s deadline is when clubs must offer players contracts for 2017 or allow them to become free agents. The Rangers need to address the roster because they are full with 40 players on it.
That leaves the club no room for trades or free agents going into the Winter Meetings that begin on Monday.
