There will be a number of stories to watch develop during the off season before NASCAR roars back to life at Speedweeks. New Title Sponsor Sprint vacates NASCAR’s top series after 13 seasons and the search for a new title sponsor has been ongoing for nearly two years. Speculation is the replacement will be introduced following this week’s Champion’s Week activities in Las Vegas allowing Sprint one last moment in the spotlight. The sanctioning body has stated several times negotiations have gone on with a number of potential companies with Monster Energy reportedly solidly in the mix to take over beginning in 2017. Regular Season Points Leader There are indications NASCAR will award a bonus of some kind to the driver leading the point standings at the end of the regular season. It could come in the way of a three-point bonus in Chase seeding similar to what a race win is worth to potentially a first round bye.
