Week 13 Waiver Wire: Projecting Best Adds, Drops and Future Handcuffs
- Updated: November 29, 2016
Week 13 represents the final game of the regular season in most fantasy leagues—one last chance to bolster a roster by scouring the waiver wire before hopefully earning a postseason berth and making the monthlong journey to a championship.
The free-agent outlook this week is best for those teams seeking help at wide receiver. That said, there’s also some solid help available at both running back and quarterback for those fantasy owners desperately searching for a late-season upgrade.
So let’s check out the most coveted targets ahead of the crucial week. That’s followed by a look at some players who can be safely released and a few backfield situations to monitor moving forward.
Week 13 Targets
Tyreek Hill burst onto the scene with his 23-point performance in Week 12, but he’s actually seen his value increase for more than a month. He posted back-to-back double-digit games in Weeks 7 and 8 while also reeling in 10 catches in Week 10.
Adam Teicher of ESPN.com passed along comments from the Kansas City Chiefs’ dynamic playmaker after his multifaceted breakout showing against the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
“Whatever they want me to do, I’m going to do it,” Hill said. “I’m going to make the plays. If the ball comes to me, I’m going to make the plays. If it [doesn’t], I’m full speed.”

Taylor Gabriel’s situation is much the same as Hill. The Atlanta Falcons wideout has now scored at least 12 points in four straight games, highlighted by his 21-point outing Sunday. It’s a streak that has a good chance to continue given the team’s concerted effort to get him the ball in space.
Kenneth Dixon hasn’t scored more than seven points all season. The reason he’s worth targeting is an uptick in his workload in a Baltimore Ravens backfield where nobody else has stood out. It gives him a golden opportunity to take over the No. 1 role during the fantasy playoffs.
