Many of the major tournaments on PokerStars NJ featured a 50 percent discount on the entry fee while keeping their guaranteed prize pools the same as usual as part of the last day of Half Price Week. The promotion appeared to be successful with prize pools growing week-over-week.
David “coles93” Coleman took the most advantage of the promotion on Sunday by outlasting a field of 602 entrants to ship the Half Price Sunday Special – $100, $50,000 Gtd for $10,390. Coleman added to his big day with two more big final table finishes including a fourth-place finish in the PokerStars NJ Nightly Stars $100, $12,000 Gtd for $1,293 and a runner-up performance in the WSOP.com NJ/888poker NJ $10,000 Warriors’ Opening Strike for $1,749.
New Jersey’s Yong “iFoldN0T” Kwon also notched a big win by shipping the Half Price Sunday High Roller [6-Max] – $250, $15,000 Gtd to collect $6,619 as part of a three-way deal. Also on the final table in this tournament were Justin “L0ck1tUp” Wong snagging fourth place for $3,070 and John “FizzEdJohn” Cosgrove Jr finishing in sixth place for $1,625.
