Slovakia – Batka’s double-double lands him Player of the Week award

Michal Batka 29-year old center Michal Batka (204-C-87) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Kosice and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 13.He had a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Karlovka (#9, 4-8) 93-81. Kosice maintains the 2nd position in Slovakian league. They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost a few games earlier this season. Kosice will need more victories to improve their 9-3 record. It’s Batka’s second year at Kosice and it’s hard to imagine this team without him. Batka has impressive league stats. He is in league’s top in rebounds (4th best: 7.3rpg) and averages solid 1.8bpg and 73.1% FGP.Second best performed player last round was Strahinja Stojacic (197-SG-92) of Lucenec. He is Serbian guard in his first season at Lucenec. In the last game Stojacic recorded impressive 24 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists.
