‘I did not forget how to win, but you are uncertain when you have to do it.’
Rafael Nadal never stopped practicing or working hard. Most importantly, never stopped believing in himself, but did have some doubts after the poor first-half of the 2015 season. In an interview to El Espanyol, Nadal spoke about these aspects in detail and revealed, ‘When you come from winning two weeks in a row it’s easier to keep doing it. It happens the same when you lose: it’s easier to lose if you are going through a negative moment. That’s sport. Last year, I had a mental problem and when you have such a problem, you are not capable of doing what you were doing before. When you are not in a good mood to hit the ball well it’s more complicated. Little by little, because things do not go from 0 to 100, I am recovering that mood. Wins help you to recover it. Playing and competing well, playing long points, living through a complicated situation, all these things are happening recently. It’s because of these I keep playing this sport. That’s what makes me happy. I play because it makes me happy.
