Report: Mark Jackson to interview for Wolves gig

The Minnesota Timberwolves swiftly let go of Sam Mitchell from the interim coaching position as soon as the 2015-16 season ended. Now they’re looking for a thorough, methodical process in finding the next coach of the Wolves, who may also receive front office power, as well. It’s not a certainty they’ll hire someone in the dual role but they’ve been impressed by Stan Van Gundy in Detroit and want to mimic that structure if possible.

They’ve already been linked to Tom Thibodeau, who is viewed as the front-runner in this process, and Jeff Van Gundy. Now they’re really leaving no stone unturned. Jon Krawcyznski of the Associated Press is reporting the Wolves will look to interview former Golden State Warriors coach Mark Jackson for the coaching aspect of the job.
