Bryan Davis An interesting game for Kapshagay (8-1) which played road game in Shymkent against 4th ranked Kazygurt (5-4). Third ranked Kapshagay had an easy win 96-66. Kapshagay dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Kazygurt’s 36 and made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Kazygurt 40-28 including 16 on the offensive glass. Kapshagay looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Vyacheslav Raguyev (195-93) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. point guard Daniil Seleznev (186-90) contributed with 19 points and 6 assists for the winners. Forward Ulykbek Polatov (189-98) replied with 18 points and 6 rebounds for Kazygurt. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kapshagay have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Almat.Legion and Tobol. Kazygurt at the other side keeps the fourth place with four games lost. They share the position with Bars. Higher League top team – Almat.Legion (8-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Barsy-2 (4-5) in Alma-Ata 110-56. Swingman Ruslan Aitkali (195-97) had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Yuriy Kozhanov chipped in 28 points and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side international center Askar Maidekin (205-97) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Barsy-2 at the other side keeps the sixth place with five games lost. The game in Petropavlovsk was also quite interesting. Second ranked Tobol (8-1) played at the court of 5th ranked Bars (5-4). Tobol defeated Bars 76-66 on Friday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Bars. Anton Bykov notched a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds to lead the effort. Even 20 points and 5 rebounds by Damil Kuznetsov did not help to save the game for Bars. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
