Solis challenges McDonnell win

The WBA has revealed that Liborio Solis has officially challenged this month’s points defeat to Britain’s Jamie McDonnell.
The Doncaster fighter retained his WBA bantamweight title with a unanimous decision over Solis in Monte Carlo, with one judge scoring the fight 117-111.
Solis has since submitted a protest about the scoring to the governing body, which confirmed the challenge to Sky Sports, and McDonnell’s trainer and manager Dave Coldwell insists his fighter would consider a rematch if it is ordered and he remains in the weight division.
