Dai Greene and Sally Peake among Welsh Athletics-supported athletes

Commonwealth medallists Dai Greene and Sally Peake are among the 34 athletes who will receive support from Welsh Athletics in 2016-17.
The governing body has named eight athletes on its Commonwealth Games ‘Podium’ programme, 18 on its ‘Potential’ programme and eight who will have ‘Futures’ level support.
Selectors chose athletes for each programme based on their perceived ability to meet objectives, including the ability to finish in the top six at either the 2018 or 2022 Commonwealth Games and the ability to represent Great Britain at a track and field championship event in 2017 or 2018.
This support announcement follows confirmation from British Athletics that four Welsh athletes – Seren Bundy-Davies, David Omoregie, Hannah Brier and Jake Heyward – will form part of their own …
