2016 Final Driver Ratings

Jimmie Johnson’s historic performance at Homestead-Miami Speedway put him on top of the season’s final Power Rankings.

1. Jimmie Johnson: A night to remember for Johnson and NASCAR as the Hendrick Motorsports driver put his name in the record books with a seventh Sprint Cup Series championship. He’s tied with Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt at that mark, which appears to be destined for Johnson to break in coming years.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 96.1 Points Standing: 1st Previous Ranking: 2nd

2. Joey Logano: Had one of the fastest cars of the day and Logano was running strong at the end hoping to get the win and championship. He ultimately ran out of time when he got passed on the overtime restart and the Team Penske driver had to settle for second in the Chase.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 101.2 Points Standing: 2nd Previous Ranking: 1st

3. Kyle Busch: Looked like he would be able to go back-to-back as a Sprint Cup champion even with an unscheduled pit stop for what Busch though was a tire issue. It turned out he wasn’t able to make it a second straight title …
