Scudamore retires Monbeg Dude

Welsh National winner Monbeg Dude will spend his retirement with Zara and Mike Tindall at Gatcombe Park after time was called on his near seven-year racing career.
The 11-year-old claimed the Chepstow showpiece for trainer Michael Scudamore back in 2013 to add to two notable Grade Three Cheltenham successes.
Monbeg Dude also counted a fine fourth in the 2014 Hennessy among his placed results and was last seen finishing third behind Many Clouds in the 2015 Grand National at Aintree.
The Witness Box gelding was owned by the Oydunow syndicate, which includes Mike Tindall and fellow former rugby union star James Simpson-Daniel.
The Tindalls will now provide a permanent home for Monbeg Dude at the Gloucestershire estate, which is the country residence of the …
