Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Cologne’s Anthony Modeste remain deadlocked in the Bundesliga’s top-scorer stakes and feature in the upper echelons of the battle for the Golden Shoe.

Kalev’s Yevgeni Kabayev leads the way on 25 points, but strikes from the aforementioned duo in vital wins for their team took them to 12 goals for the season and 24 points in the Golden Shoe standings. 

As the elite European leagues get up to full speed, the top 10 is beginning to contain more and more familiar names, including a trio of stars from Serie A—Andrea Belotti, Mauro Icardi and Edin Dzeko—among the contenders, as well as Chelsea’s in-form goal-getter Diego Costa.

Here is a look at the standings following a weekend of more wonderful goalscoring from across the continent and a reminder of some of the highlights from the past couple of days.

Points for the Golden Shoe table are calculated by the amount of goals multiplied by a difficulty factor—determined by the strength of the league in which the goals are scored. 

Strikes in the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga and Serie A are worth two points, so Aubameyang’s haul of 12 goals yields 24 points.

In one of the most anticipated games of the season, Borussia Dortmund welcomed Bayern Munich to the Westfalenstadion, and their man for the big occasion made his mark on the fixture.
