Hendrick Celebrates Johnson’s Record

Share: HOMESTEAD, Fla. – Rick Hendrick couldn’t be more proud of the accomplishment Jimmie Johnson achieved Sunday night with his seventh career Sprint Cup Series title. Johnson’s win in the Ford EcoBoost 400 clinched his record-tying seventh title in NASCAR’s top division tying Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt for the mark. “You know, when you think about what it would mean to see Jimmie get eight, and especially when you do it under several different formats, I think that we’ve all talked and you guys have asked me about, do I think he gets the credit he deserves,” Hendrick said Sunday at Homestead-Miami Speedway. “I think the five in a row was pretty phenomenal, and I think winning seven and tying seven is pretty special.
