MladenJeremic The round 9 was rather boring as all games ended with very predictable results.The game with biggest result difference took place in Timisoara. Local BC Timisoara (5-4) outscored 11th ranked Olimpic (1-7) 74-55 on Friday night. The game was mostly controlled by BC Timisoara. Olimpic managed to win fourth quarter 14-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BC Timisoara forced 23 Olimpic turnovers. The best player for the winners was Serbian guard Mladen Jeremic (198-88, agency: 011 Sports) who scored 22 points. Cuban-American center Adrian Diaz (213-93, college: FIU) chipped in 9 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian center Marko Pavlovic (210-86) who recorded 12 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. BC Timisoara moved-up to fifth place. Olimpic lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. They share it with Dinamo B.. BC Timisoara are looking forward to face higher ranked CSU Sibiu (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Olimpic will have a break next round. Targu Mures lost to Steaua CSM on the opponent’s court 62-80. Phoenix Galati unfortunately lost to CSU Sibiu in a home game 81-90. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-14. But Phoenix Galati won third quarter 26-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was the former international Vlad Moldoveanu (206-88, college: American, agency: BeoBasket) who scored 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. American Kyndall Dykes (192-87, college: New Orleans) chipped in 14 points. Dykes is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. UBT Cluj Napoca’s coach Mihai Silvasan used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian swingman Milos Bojovic (198-81, agency: 011 Sports) who recorded 21 points and 8 rebounds and Serbian forward Milos Pesic (205-84, agency: 011 Sports) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. UBT Cluj Napoca have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Steaua CSM. Phoenix Galati lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with six games lost. UBT Cluj Napoca is looking forward to face Oradea (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Phoenix Galati will play against CS Dinamo Bucuresti (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
