Astros reportedly place Singleton on waivers

HOUSTON — Jon Singleton, the former Astros top prospect who signed a five-year, $10-milion contract upon his promotion to the big leagues in 2014, has been placed on outright waivers, a source told MLB.com Saturday. If he clears waivers, he’ll be outrighted to Triple-A and off the 40-man roster. The club has not yet confirmed.
