PHOENIX — The D-backs set their 40-man roster Friday, adding six players while also losing six in the process.

Left-hander Anthony Banda, infielder Domingo Leyba, infielder Dawel Lugo, infielder Jack Reinheimer, right-hander Jimmie Sherfy and infielder Ildemaro Vargas were added to the roster, which protects them from being selected in next month’s Rule 5 Draft.

To make room for those players on the roster, the D-backs designated Kyle Jensen and Gabriel Guerrero for assignment.

The D-backs also lost four players on waivers when pitchers Edwin Escobar (Indians), Dominic Leone (Blue Jays) and Tyler Wagner (Rangers) along with catcher Tuffy Gosewisch (Braves) were claimed.
