Rikako Ikee Notches Double At Asian Championships To Pace Japanese Medal Haul

Rising Japanese teenager Rikako Ikee notched a pair of victories as the Asian Championships rolled along with Day Two of action in Tokyo on Friday. The effort by the 16-year-old, who has become a multi-event standout, not only enjoyed a superb day on an individual basis, but also headlined a strong showing by Japan as a nation.
One day after finishing as the runnerup in the 100 freestyle, but with a national-record time, Ikee claimed top honors in the 50 butterfly and 50 freestyle.
