Cubs claim lefty Rollins off waivers from Mariners

CHICAGO — The Cubs added another left-handed pitcher to their inventory, claiming David Rollins off waivers from the Mariners on Friday.
Rollins, 26, spent most of the 2016 season at Triple-A Tacoma, where he was 5-0 with two saves and a 3.77 ERA in 37 relief appearances. He walked six over 45 1/3 innings, also holding opponents to a .236 batting average. He made 11 relief appearances for the Mariners, going 1-0 but allowing eight runs over 9 1/3 innings for a 7.71 ERA.
